What is play therapy? “Play therapy” is translated from “Play Therapy”. As the name suggests, play therapy is a psychological counseling method using “toys and games” as the medium. Child-centered play therapy emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship between therapist and child.
Play therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach to therapy that uses play as a medium for children to express their emotions, process experiences, and develop problem-solving skills in a safe and supportive environment. It is grounded in the understanding that play is a natural mode of communication for children, allowing them to explore complex feelings and situations that they may not yet have the vocabulary or cognitive ability to articulate.
Play therapy is used to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues. Also,by enabling children to explore their inner world through play, the therapy promotes healing, growth, and a better understanding of their own experiences and emotions.
